_Many of you have recently asked me, "What's new with Chuck Schaeffer Band"?
Here's the first hand scoop. Anything else you've heard is propaganda.
In early October, there was an industry push to get the band out of the studio
for a mini-tour through the South, because promoters and labels felt live exposure
would be the ticket that would push us up the industry ladder.
It turns out that our keyboard player didn't want to do that;
that while he was fine with recording studio tracks,
he had no actual desire or motivation to do any live shows with CSB.
Since "out" was where the rest of us wanted to go,
we mutually agreed to move on without him. We are still friends.
Larry Kessler is an accomplished pro and will flourish no matter what he decides to do.
The demand for players like him will never diminish.
We wish him continued success with whatever he pursues.
So, instead of trying to replace Larry with another keyboard player,
and very few people are capable of filling those shoes anyway,
CSB has decided to go back to its roots, "two guitars",
and replace him with a 2nd guitarist, which should actually give us a nice edgy sound.
The new lineup currently consists of Larry Smith and I on guitars, Dave Roman on bass,
and our rock solid drummer,Bob Martorella. We will finish our next EP , "The Chameleon"
without keyboards; just guitars. It should be finished by Spring's's end.
We will then shoot a live video of the 4 of us playing a brand new song,
and start making live appearances as soon as the video is finished,
probably late Spring or early Summer of 2012.
Stay tuned for more as it develops. New tracks are on the way.
And thanks for being a fan of CSB!
